It might be nice to include a relevance ordering in the "search_artists" call.
If I search for "The Beatles", the band I'm most likely looking for (the beatles) is often 5th or lower -- behind others such as "The Black Beatles", and "The Beatles Revival Band".
Hmm, you don't like "the black beatles"? you really should give them try. But yes, we are looking at improving the sort order of the search_artist results so that the best matching artists are first.
Paul, any hint of an order of magnitude timeframe on this? (weeks? months? a year?) I've got some ideas I've wanted to try out on the client end, but if a solution is imminent, I'm happy to wait to see what you guys come up with.
I think the lesson that we all learned from Daikatana is never to promise a date when software will be delivered. But I think I can hint at a time frame on the order of somw here between a few weeks and a few months.
